Drake’s “Quebec” Lyrics: “All She Want Is Japanese Skincare,” and What 2 + 1 + 3 Adds Up To

Hip-Hop Charts4 min read

“All she want is Japanese skincare.” That’s a line from Drake’s new song, “Quebec.”

On October 2, 2026, Drake released “HABIBTI (FOMO),” a 15-track edition that adds four songs from his September short film “FOMO” to May’s “HABIBTI.” “Quebec” is track 13, running 2 minutes and 10 seconds. The credited producers are FASHXN, BEAM, Smash David, and b4u, and PARTYNEXTDOOR is listed among the writers and on background vocals.

Heard in a Film, Posted as a Video, Then Gone

The song reached listeners through film before it reached music streaming services. It played inside “FOMO,” the short film that premiered on YouTube on September 15, and on September 19 a standalone music video went up on YouTube. According to Billboard Canada, the video shows Drake laying out his Billboard Music Awards trophies, watches, and chains, with the Jacques-Cartier Bridge and the Montreal skyline projected behind him.

Then, as HotNewHipHop reported, the video was set to private within a day. No reason had been given when that report was published on September 20. The streaming release came about two weeks later, on October 2.

The title appears once in the lyrics.

If this move get made, we should push out to Québec

Head above these waters and ice below the neck

Billboard Canada notes that Drake played his first-ever headline show in Montreal in 2008. Quebec sounds like a place to escape to here, but for him it is also where things started.

Black, Blue, Red, Purple, Yellow: A Run of Colors

The hook repeats “I know what’s true.” There is only one verse. Early on, he runs through a series of colors.

Black skies, blue bills, my eyes turnin’ red

Purple stones incrusted, I can’t heal just yet

The next line has yellow looking orange because of the meds. Whether the blue bills are Canadian fives or the newer U.S. hundreds is never specified. I pictured the Canadian ones.

He raps about loving his mother deeply, even as she recognizes how different they are. He counts the people he has lost and suspects the feds are behind the strange things happening around him. That is a long way from the tenderness of the album’s title, “habibti,” Arabic for “my beloved.”

What 2 + 1 + 3 Adds Up To

Two-one-three, add that up and tell me what you get

Twist the 6ix, I’m plottin’ every chance that I get

Add them and you get six, which lands on “the 6ix,” Drake’s name for Toronto, in the very next line. Since 213 is also a Los Angeles area code, you could read it as a trip from L.A. back to Toronto by arithmetic. That is my reading, not his explanation.

Where the “Japanese Skincare” Line Sits

The line about Japanese skincare comes in the second half of the verse.

All she want is Japanese skincare

And she want the Iceman to sleep here

The Iceman here is Drake himself. It is also the title of the album he released in May.

The preceding lines mention a Rolls-Royce joke, “Phantom at the crib, it must be haunted,” and a skeleton Cartier watch, “a skelly Cartier.” Phantom, Cartier, then Japanese skincare. The car and the watch are his possessions. The skincare is what she wants.

Later in the verse, the phrase “According to” keeps recurring as the description moves from her face to his chain and then to a plane that seats forty.

Two Minutes and Ten Seconds, Back to the Hook

The song returns to the hook and ends. It is the shortest of the four additions to “HABIBTI (FOMO).” Billboard Canada describes it as a one-verse track that slides from an R&B opening into a smooth, bouncy rap cut.

Short as it is, the October 3 Spotify U.S. daily chart had it at No. 10 with about 810,000 streams, per kworb. From the same album, “Solar Eclipse” sat at No. 4 and “Cold Shoulder” at No. 12. Three of the four new songs were near the top.

I keep coming back to the skincare line. Right after the car and the watch, the thing she wants is “Japanese” skincare. No brand is named, so I can’t tell which products he has in mind. Still, to me it sounds like a glimpse of someone’s daily life. One line out of two minutes and ten seconds.
